Well I ordered my T170 direct from Sony on Dec 20th for 2-day delivery on the 22nd….tonight on the 23rd still no T170. Apparently Fed-Ex, UPS, and everyone else are struggling with the bad weather around the country….there’s a chance I’ll still get it tomorrow (xmas eve) but it’s looking like Monday. Bummer.
Did they send you some shipment notification with a fedex/UPS tracking #?
I ordered 1 gig of RAM from zipzoomfly a couple of days ago (for 2 day delivery) and the fedex site says it will be delivered tomorrow…so I hope I’ll get it tomorrow.
Yeah, but when you do get it, you will be totally delighted. This is the perfect computer.
I ordered my T150P standard shipping. Because nobody is home during the day, I had it delivered to work. I was supposed to arrive on Friday. Come 4:00 Friday, there was no computer. Receiving assured me there would be no more Fed-Ex deliveries. But just before I went home about 5:30, I checked one last time. It was in! I had the most delightful weekend. I’m pretty sure the guys in receiving were almost as happy as I was that I wouldn’t be bugging them any more.

Yes I have the tracking # which this morning (the 23rd) was telling me delivery today by 4:30pm. The last entry in the tracking says it is in Oakland, CA at 10:59am on the 22nd and there has been no progress from there. It started in Gardena, CA on the 21st, then went to Los Angeles…so it’s getting a nice tour of CA. Hopefully in the morning the tracking will tell me more.
hmm, it appears like ur in CA and then too it’s taking so long to get to you, while I’m in NY and the package is coming from CA…looks like my hopes of getting it tomorrow are also over now :cry: :cry:
I’m in Minnesota. I called Fed-Ex on the phone and was told the main weather problem was in Memphis or something…I think she said Memphis…my mind was wandering while she was talking. I could be wrong but I think Memphis is the main hub for Fed-Ex.
The T170 is still on the move…from Oakland on the 22nd it went to Memphis on the 24th, then back to Oakland on the 24th, then back to Memphis again at 11:12pm on the 24th! I hope they’re being gentle with her…all of the extra traveling around is a little disconcerting!
Frankly, I have never liked Fedex. They are so stupid…I have noticed on occasions that something would be shipped for me from NJ (to NY) for 2 day delivery and it would actually take 2 days to arrive at my place when regular ground service is next day delivery from NJ to NY.
FedEx does that. Irritates the hell out of me. Unless I get something with overnight delivery, it invariably gets ‘stuck’ in Newark for 24 hours until the time it’s “supposed” to get to me. Whenever I get anything shipped Airborne or USPS it gets to me at least a day before it’s supposed to.
I don’t even want to get into stories about mysitcally dissapearing or misshipped packages. FedEx and UPS both suck.
Yet another FuckedUp FedEx story: I needed to send some documents to my real estate agent to arrive today, so I sent them overnight FedEx. Now FedEx tells me that they will be delivered tomorrow. Why? Bad weather in Memphis, TN. They sent an overnight package going from Mt Vernon, NY to SoHo in downtown Manhattan (a distance of about 15 miles) through fucking Memphis. :shock:

Well I finally got my T170 today (Dec 27th). Couldn’t be happier with it…I’m typing on it now. :D FedEx was disappointing but I’ll live. Anyways, I love this computer! My Waterfield Cargo Bag and Sleevecase should be arriving tomorrow (overnight by FedEx lol) so we’ll see what happens. Going to Hawaii on Thursday.
ur so lucky…stupid Fedex came over to deliver my package at 9:30 am and (I get my shipments shipped to my uncles store which is like 2 mins walk from my home) the store opens at 10:00 am…those idiots are already aware that the place opens only at 10:00 am…hopefully they’ll come after 10:00 tomorrow to deliver.

Oddly enough…i actually like Fedex. Their main hub happens to be only a few blocks away so if I miss them I can always stop by until 7:30pm to pick it up at their place. In general, they deliver stuff earlier than I’m expecting.
