I see that my new T1 has a prepartitioned hard disk ... there’s a way to setup/erase that partitioned ?

Norton Partition Magic 8.0. (Google it).  Very stable. But back up your data and make your recovery CDs first.

Yes i know norton partition magic (i think that somewhere in t1 i could find some preinstalled software).
But why sony prepartitioned hard disk ?
I had read somewhere that some pc productor create two or more partition to put a mirror of system files in case of need to recover that ... but on my t1 i have on the second partition (of 16,2 giga) some empty folder (no hidden files) click to dvd2, contenents, sonic stage, vaio entertainment, video, shared ...
where there’s no files in it ...
also yours t1 are prepartitioned in that strange way ?

Well its so good because its so bright, makes xbrite different from other screen technologies.

Plus people like us, entranced with the digital lifestyle are bound to suffer from eye defects , xbrite or not.

I don’t know why Sony set up two partitions, I think it is unusual for a manufacturer to do that.

But you don’t necessarily want to remove all partitions and just go with one big partition.  Partitions help manage your system.  I have 5 partitions on my 40GB drive.

My main OS drive C: is 10GB.  I have a 1GB partition for my data, a 1GB partition for “shared” data when I sync with my network, this is data my wife also needs.  I have a 6GB partition for temp files, things I have downloaded, etc.  And then I have a 20GB partition for backing up digital photos when I am on the road.

I recommend at least having 2 partitions, 1 for your OS and 1 for data.  If you have to recover the OS partition you can do it without worrrying about your data partition.

There are 3 partitions on your T. There is a hidden partition with the restore information, plus the C: and D: drives you see. The big advantage to separating the C: and D: drives is that it allows you to completely re-install windows and programs without affecting your data. For example, you get some horable virus. You can’t clean the C: drive. Just reformat the C: drive and reinstall Windows, plus your other software. When you are done, all your data files (which, of course, are on the D: drive) are still available.
