I have a T150P, but the TR has the troubleshooting section, and hey maybe both are involved.

TTax doesn’t run on my T. Intuit has a pretty substantial thread on their TTax board. Mostly it seems to be malware and viruses, plus one or two programs. The normal fix (after virus scans and ad-ware scans) is msconfig / startup / disable all. Then play around until you find the culprit. But for my computer, it still doesn’t run. It creates a task, but no program.

TTax runs in safe mode. It runs in safe mode + networking. It does not run in safe mode + VGA. So it looks like the video system. Sony has a video driver upgrade on their support site, but it doesn’t fix the problem.

Anybody else have experience with this?

I got it to run, but I’m not sure what I did. I turned off all graphics acceleration. (Right click on desktop, properties, settings, advanced, troubleshoot. Slide Hardware acceleration to None and turn off “Enable Write Combining”). After a reboot, TTAX worked.

Then I turned all the graphics acceleration back on and reboot again. TTAX still works.

Before I did any of this, I installed the video driver update from the Sony site. Maybe the new driver wasn’t being used until I turned graphics acceleration off, then on. :?:  :?:  :?:

Go figure.
