[quote author=“NiftyBobby”]Yea, i’ve seen only 2 people using TR’s, another 1 using T, 3 S’s, lots of IBM’s , Hp’s and Dell’s and aparently lots of Apple’s but i think my college gave apple laptops away to students who are in honors, so it;s probably just me. oh,. all this in the last 3 weeks. i’m in NYC.
Nice! Where do u go? NYU?
[quote author=“kageon1”]I’m sure there are a handful of TR users in NYC, they probably just don’t bring it with them, or simply just don’t take it out.
Isnt that sort of defeating the purpose of an ultra-portable? If you werent gonna take it out much, aside from it being the SEXIEST lappy on Earth, why would you get it when you could easily get something like the S that has the power, lower price tag, and better specs while still being small enough to be portable when you need it. Thats why I could how much more practical the S would be. However, in NYC, many people often are issued laptops from their employers, or so I’ve been led to believe by my half-sister. As such, these are usual little black boxes with the letters “I-B-M” stamped on them and distributed around to the employees. So if the employee feels any need for a laptop, he will get a fairly mainstream desktop replacement in most cases would he not? As there is no longer any significant need to tote around one single laptop. Simply load the client files onto a USB stick and your good to go.
As for students, ultraportables cost more. Enough said.
