here you go:
“Speaking about the Memory Stick Duo, we have tested a conventional Memory Stick Duo Pro 512MB from our Sony digicam which was finally found compatible. The Memory Stick lets you store pictures, music as well as your own video files that can be played back on the PSP console. Sony announced a MPEG4 movie converter to be available for download before end of the year.”
“Opening up the Value Pack, it contains the Sony PSP console itself, a 100-240 multi voltage power supply, Battery Pack, Soft Pouch, Earphone & Remote Set, Memory Stick Duo 32MB, instructions “
“playback of pictures and movies which can be stored on the Memory Stick Duo ”
So we’ve at last played our way through a full battery charge cycle. In case you don’t feel like counting, the battery died after about four hours and fourty-five minutes of five different games and one hour of MP3 play. We didn’t use the WiFi features of the system at all during this time.
[quote author=“Anonymous”]nox is grasping at straws, it was a full charge test, not an out of the box test. he’s only believing Lik Sang cause they told him what he wants to hear. but the most accurate count for battery is about 2-3 hours WITHOUT using any wireless. its just best to be realistic in these situations and not having false hope or spreading false info just because you are a fan of the company. people need to speak with honesty, not bias.
“Based on our estimates and a few battery-draining tests, Ridge Racers seems to last somewhere between 90 minutes and three hours. Playing with the wireless networking switch flipped on will also further reduce your battery life”
if you dont play games more than 1 or 2 hours at a time its fine, and as long as your near a power outlet so you can charge it up for the next session. although if you play heavily, this could grow quite tedious. but dont expect anything even close to DS’s 6-8 hour battery life.
Did u read the review I posted a few posts up? 4.45 hours.
My only questions regarding the battery life is how well these systems deal with the functionality that hasn’t been tested but is planned.
For instance, the wireless abilities of these devices seem to be a big thing. It will be interesting to see how long they last using it. Also, I’m curious about the GPS abilities of the PSP, the ability to make you’re own UMDs (very wishful), and other untapped potential. I’d like to know Sony’s policy on the screen. Nintendo is offering a very liberal exchange program which is nice.
Many questions…we’ll just have to wait until next year for official US release info. :?

I secretly wonder if that will continue past Christmas.
I understand the need not to get hammered with bad press (with the amount of bad screens they have reported) around their biggest sales month…but afterwards, what motivation do they have to continue to take a beating on replacing units?
Also, expect there to be a flood of Refurbs sooner or later, they can’t resell the ones taken back for dead pixels as new, even if they replace the screen…thanks Gateway!

Yar. That reallly hurt. :( All I was trying to do is basically see what evidence there was about Sony’s poor battery life. Either way, our estimates are up and down the map, from 90 minutes to 4 hours. But in the end, remember, they are JUST ESTIMATES. Very, VERY few of us will even receive PSPs before March rolls around. Just keep that in mind.

(I’ve never even shopped at Lik-Sang before, either…)
