I still don’t understand why people complain about the $249 launch price tag (it’s absolutely not aimed at you Erik, since you kept your reservation)
Have you seen what you have for that price ?
And it’s just $50 more than in Japan, i’ve seen a hell lot of products (take a look at sony ultraportables prices…) which price raises awfully when coming from Japan to US / Europe…
Maybe for children it’ll be a huge expense, but the main psp market is in the 20 - 40 age range… So who cares about $50 ?

Completely agree! Yeah, who cares abou the $50??!! If you are really so annoyed about the extra LITTLE $50 then you are not eliglible to buy Sony products.
I know who the PSP is aimed at, but you need to figure the $50 is essentially loosing a free game. When consoles are selling at $180 and lower its hard to justify $250 + games for a handheld. Americans are very price picky and if a products is $25-50 more then they expect it really changes their buying habbits.
Only time will really tell, I am sure they will sell a lot of PSPs here, but I don’t see them selling out their 1,000,000 shipment right away.
There’s no doubt that all 1 million units will not be sold RIGHT at launch…
Even in Japan, some people were still stating that it was pretty easy to pick one up the next morning after launch, and that lining up overnight for it was pretty unneccessary.
But overall, I still think that it’ll go REALLY fast
Well, it would need to be for the battery…I would get a cheaper case (or use the one that comes with the value pack) as the daily case, and this for long trips…flights, etc.
[quote author=“tifosiv122”][quote author=“jashsu”]Looks a bit bulky though

Erik
That sounds logical. The case and battery combo certainly is utilitarian. I think since the PSP is already too large to stuff into a pocket, i’ll just put it in my messenger bag’s pocket without a case. As for battery life, I can’t imagine many older psp users that could spend 3 hours a day playing games. I mean if youre going to be playing for that long, chances are you’re probably sitting reasonably close to a wall outlet.
jashsu - funny you said that, I said nearly the exact same thing to my friend last night. It will never fit in my pocket anyway…it will need to be carried in some sort of bag or in my hand.
Airwave - There are 2 or 3 different types of leather cases on ebay now, for under $50…one is made by PDAir…I want it so bad but I think I will stick with the $9.99 metal case Ebgames sells for daily and the battery case for trips/etc.
Weird, I recall adding to this thread a few hours ago, but my post isn’t here..
Basically, whilst I like the cases mentioned above, I’m happy with the one supplied with my PSP - does the job pretty well and cleans the screen too.
I bought a spare battery which I’ve yet to crack out of the packaging as I never seem to have a problem with battery life as it is, so maybe the extra thick case may not do so well as I’m not sure who would buy it?
Cant wait for the english release of image convertor so i can watch Magnum PI and Fantastic Journey on the move… 8)
I know the link to a certain Image Converter 1.5 (english version) but I do not know if its the same one you are looking for. Anyway, here’s how to get it.
Go to the above site and go to the “Downloads” “Handheld section”. Then select the “TJ series”, “TJ37/G”. You will then be able to see the software that you were mentioning above.
