First of all, i wanna wish you all a “BONNE ANNEE” or rather an HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope 2005 will bring us even more high tech gadget :drool:

But the begin the year a have a dumb question… i know i haven t found the answer to my question yet…

what is that part that is under our left palm.. i mean bottem left corner… is it the hdd? The fan ( where is that one located??) because that thing make to much sound to me :cry:  is there any thing i can do for that? BTW: i have not found the “Performance Balancer” software yet… could someone please ectract it from the recovery cd for me? As a happy NY gift :wink:

The hard drive is indeed under your left palm.

The fan is just forward of that, under the ASDF set of keys.  You can see the vent on the left side as a set of two slots in the case.

I too have been impressed with the quietness - but mine has only just started making a high pitched sound - that I wonder about - if anyone else has this - and having done a bit of investigation it is directly related to the brightness of the screen.

If I have the screen on full brightness - the sound is there - and as I step off the brightness (descrease it) so to does the sound.

Does not matter if the power is through the adapter or on battery.
Anyone else have this?

I found the DVD drive too loud, especially when trying to watch a movie. Then I found nero drive speed. It lets you set the speed at which to run your drive, i keep it set at 4x which is fine for everything other than installing and burning. It makes it much nicer to listen to music cd’s etc.
