Somehow yesterday I lost the A/C power cord to the A/C adapter to my x505. I remember putting it in the bag, now its gone.

Anyway, Radio Shack sells a replacement part, its $2.99. Part # 61-2876. It works with the TR/T/x505 A/C. If the S uses the same A/C then it will work with that one too.

I’ve added the part # to the x505 part # thread, but I posted this for other people if they ever run into a similar situation. Honestly, for $3, I might pick up a spare in case this happens again.

Yeah, that’s probably the only thing Sony does in a standard way.

The same AC cord that works on my TR works on my Sony VCR, my Sony Clie AC adapter, my Sony Tivo, etc….  It also works on my Phillips Tivo and my Toshiba DVD Recorder, most consumer electronics.

I think it’s a fairly universal cord which is why Radio Shack has them for $3.

It is a standard cord, generically referred to as a Panasonic power cord. There are two different versions. One is a figure 8 design, the other has one end of the 8 squared off to preserve polarity.

Interestingly enough I went around my house yesterday frantically looking for one in another device to pull from. All of them were boxy on one end…except my portable DVD player, which was S shapped on both sides…so there are 3 different types of plugs as far as I know, circle, circle-box, and S.
