new tr3 driver (or is it driving me?) and this may be in the wrong forum… question is, with Windows XP pro updates set to automatic, what will cause an update to be “downloading” and you have a tray icon for it and then suddenly it is gone.  Travel a lot and currently using an unencrypted wireless connection that is constantly varying in signal strength from low to good.  I am also curious why that little icon isn’t always in the tray, does it only appear while downloading an update?

If you have automatic updates enabled the icon will usually only appear while its getting the updates and installing them.  If you have it setup to only download the updates and notify you that they are ready to be installed then the icon will be in the system tray until you install the downloaded updates.
