What type of different TR?
In most cases it won’t install.

Even if it’s a TR1A using the TR1AP disks, it won’t install. The restore disks check the BIOS.
gr00vy, this should probably be put on the FAQ.

True, but will a TR2 Ap1 work with a TR2 Ap3? The only difference being WiFi…I wonder if its still locked.
Also, the model matrix needs updating.

Have you been successful doing this? We’ve had anectodal evidence that the TR1 series discs are locked to the BIOS (someone bought them and tried on their TR1A).

My question is will AP2 work on AP3 or vise versa…I don’t think anyone’s tried that yet.
Model to model TR2 TR3 wont work
Nor will A to AP
But APx to APx might?

[quote author=“DayWalker1”]yes and no!
full recovery will work with TRxA from 1 to 5 with the TRxA disks only
full recovery will work with TRxAPx from 1 to 5 with TRxAP disks only
driver and software recovery will work either way. You can recover software and drivers from TR3AP1 disks to TR3A, no problem.
Same with S series.
Same with T Series.
We tried a TR2a to a TR3a and it wouldn’t install.

Yeah, my official TR2a DVD to my friends TR3a…wouldn’t install. We could extract specific apps, but not full recovery.
