Could anyone recommend a good WIFI sniffer for my Tr3A?  I have a couple good ones for my HP PDA, but would like the functionality with my Vaio…..

sorry I’m slightly confused…are you looking for some separate hardware device which could detect the presence of a wireless network in the vicinity or some software which would run on your TR (that wouldn’t make sense since the adapter built into the TR will itself detect a wireless network and give you the option of connecting to it)?

My friend has a device that would fit into the former category but it was quite useless since it didn’t work most of the times.

if its a software sniffer you want - you could do worse than this:

I just use the built in functionality of XP.  It tells me when networks are nearby and lists them so I can select one.

I am not sure why you would need seperate software for this.

Even my Sony Clie can do this.  It indicates the SSID, whether the system has WEP or not and the strength.
