I’ve noticed this board getting a little testy recently and want to address this. First of all, I don’t normally do heavy handed moderation because A) I’m too busy and B) I know most of you will be on good behavior and set good examples for everyone else. So, let’s just go over a few things. I can tell you to read the FAQ or watch the video of proper forum etiquette but I have a feeling that most of you won’t take the time for that. So, in a nutshell… 1. If you have nothing of value to add to the discussion then you probably don’t need to post. Of course, If you have questions regarding a post, need more information, need clarification, want to add your own educated insight, or some related information then please do so. 2. If you feel “really” strongly about what someone has posted then privately message them first. Don’t use the forum to attack other members even if you think you’re in the right. That’s not the proper thing to do and YOU and ALL PARTIES involved are doing nothing more than spamming the forum. If I have to, I’ll ban those involved so don’t make me do that. 3. Know when the joke has gone too far and try to be more understanding. This forum is sort of known for its humor and sometimes sarcastic tone (set by the presence of its more senior members). It’s all in fun but we always try to give each member some amount of respect. Also, everyone needs to be aware that not everyone here is from the same place. We have a somewhat international membership and people have different views, socio-economic backgrounds, languages, and cultures. So, there’s bound to be something lost in the translation and interpretation on posts. So, please take the time to think through your posts before responding. There’s probably more for me to add but it’s late and you should get the point already. I’m expecting you all to help me out here. -gr00vy0ne |
