I have never really had a problem I’ve probably bought and sold over 2000+ things on e-bay thus far.
You just gotta be smart about whom you buy from, or sell to for that matter.
I’ve sold cars that went from 10k, several laptops, 21” LCD Dells, etc.,
I’ve been fine, I’m honest with the buyers, and they are honest with me, I usually can smell a scam a mile away.
Some annoying ass buyers though, try to avoid NJ/NY like the plague, they assume at all costs, you are going to fuck them. I don’t like dealing with customers like that.
It should also be mentioned that the seller’s can get scammed also by a buyer making a chargeback on their credit card or many other similar ways, which is why I decided to sell my tr5 in person rather than through ebay. I tried listing it once and got nothing but suspicious offers. Here’s one“I have been authorised by my client to purchase a machine of the type you are selling it is most ungent that we complete this matter my client has allocated 2500.00 to pay for your trouble(I was only asking 1900.00) plus 250.00 for shipping to london please contact me asap with your payment info…etc..etc.. “Of course they wanted me to ship my computer to them right away before payment. And this was only one of the e-mails I recieved (over 50)
I was forced to pull my TR sale from ebay for the same issue. I had a buy it now and it kept on being used for fraud. You can do instant payment, but only up to $2000 or $2500, I forget which. Either way, my TR sold for $2900 so it wouldn’t help me.
Well I’m attempting to sell my notebooks on Ebay UK, after having procrastinated about it for a while. I think the bidder on my TR1 may be dodgy, as he has a very low feedback rating so I’ve asked him to confirm his intention to buy within 24 hours or I’ll remove his bid.
Guess i’ll just have to wait and see…
i had to file for a charge back recently because the item was never received. i was unable to get a hold of the seller and paypal as usual was no help at all.
this is the 3rd time i got burned with the so called paypal buyer protection policy..

i never use “buy it now”‘s on my ebays auctions anymore. So many of my auctions have been closed by zero feedback bidders hitting the buy now and then you have to instantly pay the ebay fees and then wait months to get the refund from ebay. I just listed the auction again immediately and sold it - without a buy now.

I like the pay instantly paypal thing you can add to buy it now, to combat annoying people like that.
