This is a very cool screensaver that was designed for Windows Media Center where it gently lowers the contrast on the screen to save it from burn in (depending on your screen).

Used on a regular PC or notebook, it imitates the screen dimming found on Mac notebooks as they try to conserve energy.

Just downloaded and installed, very cool stuff.. only wish it had the facility to turn the backlight off as well.

Hmm…is that so the start bar has more focus? i.e. easier to see?

Not sure why it does it, but I love it…almost like retro PC…

Doesn’t this screensaver do the same thing?  When you click shutdown the taskbar goes black and white too so just play with the darkness setting till it matches the XP fade…

*waits for a list of the differences/reasons why not*
