Hi you guys,
was wondering if there was anybody in europe selling a XHub4+ or XHub7+ I m asking for someone is europe since we use different type of plug + plus i ll do a money transfer…
I like the design of it very much. And i d rather get it “second hand” than new.. too expensive for me :?
i’ve Xhub7+.
First one i have a problem about grounding circuit. Whenever I plugged that hub to my TR, i gave me a static sound from the speaker. So I returned and get another, so far so good, no problem at all.. do you guys leave it on 24/7? or shut it off whenever u dont use the computer.
i leave everything on, the hub, the speakers, the external hdd, even the tr is on 24/7
shouldnt be a big problem ... even though i was told that hard disks, except scsi systems, shouldnt run 24/7, they could be harmed after some years ... so what? after 4 or 5 years its not interesting at all anymore—> changed
you can, but i can’t imagine using more that 7 usbs + 1 extra on my computer. those cords in the back can get messy if they’re not bundled up. but what makes this hub awesome is the two verticle plugs. they make life so much simplier for flashdrive plug-ins or any other quick connection.
if i was going to do stacks, i’d get the belkin 4 usb 2.0 quatra or whatever it’s called. I hear it somehow works faster than this usb 2.0. i opted for this because i didn’t want to pay twice the amount for connectivity to items like my thumbdrive, mouse, camera, ups, laptop fan and hopefully my future ipaq. Aside from the thumbdrive, i can’t see any of those items needing massive bandwidth.

One really nice thing about the Adaptec XHub7+ is that it’s balanced very well even if you have it loaded up with lots of devices. One thing that annoyed me with flat ones (like the Belkins) is that they tended to be too light and fully loading them up with USB devices made them lift off the desk.
The XHub7+‘s design neatly organizes and balances the cables eliminating the problem.
