FYI, I found an alternate driver and app that works with the Sony a/b/g PCMCIA card included with the US X505’s. The Sony app basically suppliments Windows WiFi control panel. The link below will allow you to d/l an Atheros app (chipset inside the Sony card) that provides more control of the card and includes Cisco LEAP extensions for those that interface that type of network. When I ran the install program I chose to only install the app and not the drivers. I went to msconfig (from the run command) and unchecked the Sony WiFi app from the list of start up items. After a reboot everything worked great. Signal strength seems to have improved (the Atheros app allows various levels of power use) and I have more control of the PC card. Have fun.. :D

I just tested. It works very well with my card. It may have improved the signal a little bit, but I am not very sure, since the signal is already very strong in my lab. I will check it at my home, there are some APs with very weak signal. I will try to see if it really improves.
By the way, can we use this driver to replace the original sony driver? Anyone tried that?
This is driver and client utility for Atheros WLAN card only. If your TR3 use Atheros chipset, you can use it, but I think TR3 is Centrino powered so WLAN is Intel 2100 or 2200 and this Utility is not for TR3.
