and also i wonder if i can use their wireless mouse on other suface (not one their tablet)

It works well, but the mouse only works on the tablet. It has no battery just like the pen, and the tablet does the tracking of both units.

I’ve been using a wacom for about 8 years (using one right now-graphire)

I think Wacom is one of the most impressive tech companies ever.

Their tablets are excellent with attention to every detail. The pens are excellent.

There’s no other option for this sort of thing.

It’s good to use a tablet at least occasionally to avoid Rep. Stress syndrome.

any skip?... i’m thinking to get a new mouse replacing my targus optical wireless mouse.. either macbt or graphire?.. oh and one more question, does the graphire3 requred to install their driver? or windows automatcly recognizes after plugged it in.

You’ll need to install their driver.

Windows XP will recognize the device but it will only operate in relative mode and not absolute mode. You’ll most likely want to use absolute mode with a tablet and their driver also helps you enable the pressure sensitive abilities of the pen among other features.
