Sony Accessories claims they should have it but don’t for some reason. I highly doubt the price of under $50 is correct, considering one rubber foot is $10, but they said they will call me back as soon as they find out how to order it and let me know how much it is.
They said since it’s not an official accessory, it’s more of a free bonus item (not listed as an accessory) it may or may not be able to be ordered through Sony Parts. I will know Monday when they call me back.
It could be an error on the part of the rep I talked to. I asked him how much is a mouse that comes with VGN-X505ZP and after 5 min on hold he told me the price. But after reading the progress of the thread I wondered if the US X505 comes with a mouse like in JP…. and after my research it does not look like it. They do supply a card reader, but I did not find any mentioning of an MS mouse.
On the second note I noticed that it comes with PCGA-C800S/B a/b/g card that will perfectly match your X505!

P.S. and by the way Dynamism does hike up its prices! You can save $$ by buying the same VAIO DVD-RW from sonystyle.com and many other accessories they offer are pricey…..

Sorry I was comparing the drive I own PCGA-DDRW1 they used to list for $700…. look up the PCGA-UFD5 a floppy drive for a $100  sonystyle wants a bit less for it.

Any 10-20% markup isn’t bad. The price of the DDRW1 is most likely because it is out of production making it hard to find or something like that.
[quote author=“eugeneyoung”][quote author=“tifosiv122”]$199.38 direct from Sony. They have never had anyone order it, but now it’s available to order…4 week backorder.
That doesn’t include tax or shipping, at $229, Dynamism isn’t overcharging IMO.
Erik
Sony is the one whose overcharging..! $200 is definitely an exaggerated price for an optical (w/card reader) mouse.
Still..I like it. :D
That’s another story…it is a really good mouse, but I don’t think any mouse is worth $200, especially a wired one.
There’s this thing about super obscene overpriced Sony accessories. I am wondering why their accessories are sooooo expensive… I just can’t believe it. Sure, they look nice with that Vaio logo and sleek designs but then, do the designs alone warrant that much money? Really wondering if anyone ever buys their accessories such as the external floppy disks or DVD/CDRW drives that are going for US$70 and US$450++ respectively in the Singapore sony Vaio webbie. $450 for an external DVD/CDRW drive? Forget it man… I don’t think they are ever going to sell those, at least in the place I live in…

Lol, I bought both of those items above…I paid $299 for the DVD+-RW and around $50 for the floppy drive. The cheapest USB floppy I saw was around $35, for $15 extra I got a Sony one, I thought it was worth the extra money.
