I’m currently teaching English in South Korea, and I just purchased a TR which is sitting back in the States in a box waiting for me which is driving me CRAZY and…*gasp*

Sorry.  My question was for any iPod owners: I know that the TR will sync fine with the ‘pod, but that you can’t charge it because the port’s unpowered.  So—how do you get power to the pod?  Is there some sort of AC cable included, or what?  Also, if you use the optional USB cable for the iPod, will it charge when connected to the TR’s USB port?

The iPod comes with an AC Adapter so you can charge it without the need for a full 6-pin firewire connection. So, I know you can charge it but I’m not sure if you can charge it and sync it at the same time…unless you have the optional USB2 + Firewire dock.

You just have to purchase a combo USB2/FireWire cable for $20, which plugs into the dock you already have. The FW end goes into the adapter for the power, and the USB end goes into your computer for the data. The USB port doesn’t carry enough power to charge the iPod alone, so you have to use the dual-plug system.
