Based on the type of performance he’s used to…Erik would not go with a P1000. After owning the original Loox T (the P) and a P2120, I can assure you he wouldn’t be happy with any product that has an early Transmeta processor. Transmeta’s latest stuff is much better and I kind of like the Muramasa stuff…but I’m not sure if the stuff in the US is the same as the JDM models.
I think Erik is very spontanous….I didn’t think he would go for the Jap ver. of the x505
1. he said he wouldn’t go under 512 in mem.
2. he said he didn’t care about the thickness of the the sub but the overall dimensions.
So I am not sure which way he would go….I can only see him not keeping his x505 if it just won’t work for his needs….
I mean come on he through all kinds of stuff on his TR that he admited he did not need or use. (BT Module, keyboard and mouse)
I think as electronic addicts as all we are….we are always looking for the grass to be greener on the other side….
I went through the same thing…I bought the BT dongle with mouse and I find myself never using it…:(
But, what I think I do need is some more memeory….Needs change….My cpu…and size and everything is keeping up with my needs.
I thought about changing over to a different notebook for like a month…..and guess who convinced me not to do it….

Chris687 - My actions are usually well thought out. Yes, I did say that I wouldn’t go below 1GB and wanted to stay away from the Jap. 505 but the situation changed and I had to adapt. For what I use my TR or 505 (just notes) 512 is more then enough. I no longer need to develop or multi-task in any taxing way…and the weight savings of the 505 made up for the missing RAM. As for the Jap. spec, if I can’t swap the keyboard, it will be sold for a US one…I just wanted the lightest possible 505.
As far as the accessories, well, it’s hard to tell if you’ll use something a lot or not. I see accessories and know i’ll use them, and just never end up doing so…it’s not spontaneous, it’s just wrong.
