Wow…..this one is so much stronger than Frances, who hit the same place a few weeks ago. I can honestly tell you that my area really dodged a bullet! Areas just an hour or so north of me (Melbourne) are really taking it hard. The only thing that makes me smile (sort of) is watching these weather reporters blow over on TV. I am thankful that this time I may not lose power at all as the worst of the storm is moving away from my area. Trees are down and power is out for many here, though. My wife and kids stayed at a family member’s home and they lost power several hours ago. Its ironic that I have not since they are only a few streets away. It looks like my roof is holding up. Thanks, guys, for thinking of me. Hopefully in the morning I can help some people who did not fare so well. Even now there are some heavy winds howling outside of my home. Its a little noisy and scary. I still can’t believe I have power.
I’ll post again later. I hope the rest of you are enjoying normal life.
Did you guys hear that some 2,000 people died in Haiti from this thing? Thats crazy! Its like a mini 9/11.
