[quote author=“Rahul”][quote author=“tifosiv122”]Most laptop display’s that i’ve seen are locked down completely…i can’t even tell if there is a battery or not. Just think about it though, plugged in 24x7, the battery would be dead rather quickly anyway…this way they can sell the ‘display’ machine with a new battery.

That depends on the store itself. The ones I saw at circuitcity were locked down (as u call it) while at Microcenter they have some sensor connected to the machine, so if someone tried to remove it, the alarm would sound. That way atleast a person can lift the machine and get a rough (because there’s no battery in it) estimate of it’s weight.
I saw the TR and S placed side by side at microcenter this time…The S is good, but I still would never trade it for my TR
What/Where is Microcenter?
