Just a quick note, that if your thinking of using your tr ram in your S series, I wouldn’t recomend it. After I install the ram from my Tr in the S every 5 - 10 mins I would get the blue screen of death going on… as soon as I took out the Ram it stopped… I tested the Ram in the TR to make sure it wasn’t faulty and it works fine… (it was sony brand aswell!)... Bummer!... Anyone else with the same issue???...

Seems to be listed as the same part # for both modules on Sony’s site, but different ones on Kingston’s site…I’ve never seen an S’s module, so i’m not sure. If they are the same, your S might have a bad port.

I think the memory timings are different on the modules. Of course, normally, the system should still run but just run the memory at the slowest common denominator. But, you never know what’s going on with the BIOS that they’re using…it may be locked to a certain speed.
