I’ve posted this on the usb forum, but u all are my favs and my family, so:

i am very disappointed with my purchase of systemworks 2004 which comes with version 2003 of ghost, which DOES NOT WORK with USB “whatever version” IF THE EXTERNAL DEVICE IS connected thru a usb hub. i’ve tried many hubs with all the same result, a hang with the supplied iomega usb drivers. So, what where they thinking at Norton, we dismantle our USB configs to plug the external drives direct when we want to do a backup? geeezzz…

I really hope i am wrong on this and there is a fix somewhere, that’s why i signed on here. The norton Knowledge base is totally unintelligible. Thanks!

ps i know there is at least one person who will say “use acronis” but i can’t.  i got this product FREE after rebate, and no budget for another backup solution.  i am TRYING to be legal, but its tough here in nepal.  and i heard so much good about ghost:)

oh that’s so bogus. but thanks for the link! <RANT| i found a post that indicates it wont work with pimca usb posts either. so we all know what that means as we just have 2 measly motherboard ports. i just dont get it, programs like partionmagic work fine, but heck, norton bought them out?!? i bet driveImage worked, but ya cant get that anymore.

hey anyone know how to type a close bracket, above the period, if your period key is broke?  i have a macally ice key and the PERIOD key is inop so i use the num lock to type a period, but i dont know how to type the greater-than/closed rant bracket!!!

ps. ok, does acronis work the same way, create an image file out of the partition?  thats all i want to do.

You can also use Windows built-in CHARMAP to figure out ALT codes for keys. It shows you the keystroke codes in the bottom right corner.
