I’d like some information. I just bought a japanese Sony vaio PCG-TR5B
(here are the specs : Centrino 1.1 GHZ, 512 Mo, DVD-RW, Wifi A/B/G and bluetooth 1.1)
I don’t really know if the specs are similaire to a US TR3..
I just install XP Pro but I can’t find the drivers and the sony software.

I’d like to buy a sony recovery disk but is a TR3 (US) disk will work on a TR5 (japanese version) ?

Is the drivers recovery wizard, will allow to create a recovery disk ? How will it works on a japanese model ?

the vaio recovery wizard will enable you create recovery discs. i presume its the same on a japanese model.

I think the recovery wizard is a US-only thing. IIRC, there’s no wizard on the EU model. They actually get pressed recovery discs, just like us TR1 users. The TR2 and on required making recovery discs.
