Folks,

I’m hoping to find a little help with getting rid of some of the dialog boxes that pop-up when I switch to/from battery power.  I did check the FAQ and while it didn’t answer this question, the section on the function keys was very nice to learn.

The first set of boxes I’d like to eliminate are the pop-up’s from the power panel when switching.  I found the place to change the text in the dialog box,  but I couldn’t find how to eliminate the box entirely.  Is there a way to do this?

The other box I’d liked really like to get rid of is the one that makes me acknowledge the power down of the dvd drive.  If I didn’t want the drive powered down, I wouldn’t have changed the power settings!  :wink:

Finally, as a newbie to this forum, I have to say thank you to everyone for all of the information posted here.  Keep up the great work!

I could never find a way to get rid of the power down the optical drive so I ended up leaving my optical drive on all the time. I actually found that it’s probably better for the drive to stay on. It doesn’t draw any appreciable power unless you have a CD/DVD stuff in the drive anyways so you might as well leave it on.
