[quote author=“alphauser”]i think you misunderstand my question 2.
my question is like: how to clone your harddisk of the laptop?
step by step.. which software..
[quote author=“nox”][quote author=“alphauser”]that i can’t resist posting here…
1) if i delete the hidden partion, can i still use the Recovery DVD to restore to original state?
2) since the laptop doesn’t come with floppy, how do you guys restore your whole system(including your installed application) from backup image? i am not sure whther ghost has bootable CD , in the lab, we usually it ghost floppy disk.
3) how difficulty to re-fresh install my own win2k instead of xp , but have everything works, include short-cut keys, camera…. i searched the forum, sounds like a daunting task.
I’ve done this, but this is from my own experience. I could be mistaken, or downright wrong, so BE CAUTIOUS AND USE COMMON SENSE.
1) I erased the secret partition and merged the C: and D: using the TR3A Recovery Disc, so yes, from my experience, you can.
2) If, and only if you’re using the Recovery Disc, it boots directly from the CD over the HD, which basically means it uses a bootable CD.
3) About three hours of work, roughly. Most of it is waiting for the install to complete. If you want a DETAILED explanation/how-to, go to http://www.hexleyinmotion.com and search the ARCHIVES for the step-by-step.
If you don’t find it, PM me (nox) and I’ll help you further.

Most sorry. Apologies, apologies. Use Acronis TrueImage, gr00vy swears by it, and so do I.
