Might sound really silly, but i want to know how many programs run on the taskbar of your TR desktop. How many icons are there on the taskbar? Does it ever seem to slow down your TR ?
Just stay away from the video intensive apps since the integrated video of the TR can only handle so much. The CPU and Ram are not the bottleneck, IMO.
I told you I run a tight ship. Drachen, do you think I have too few? Why do I have 28 processes running in the CTR-ALT-DEL window?
There are several sub processes running in windows all the time. Some also belong to the programs your running, XP in general, Internet Explorer takes up a hell lot of RAM and CPU usage. I think 5 is too less though. I have about 23 running on my old toshiba 1800-700 PIII , 512 MB ram. It does give a pretty decent speed even at that, though keeps crashing every now and then.
[quote author=“writetovarun”][quote author=“Drachen”]With XP’s tray slider, I keep forgetting how much crap piles up in there. I’ve got 18:
Wireless, P900 link, PowerPanel, Bluspace, Samurize, YZshadow, AudioCentral, LAN connection, Volume, QTTask, Intel PROset, Power, PROset wireless, VirusScan, Intel Extrme Graphics, Roxio drag-to-disc, Touch Pad and Wirless device switcher.
bloody hell drachen. Does your TR slow down in anyway ?
Not really. I have plenty of RAM and as long as I can open MyIE2, I’m happy. It’s not as many processes as it sounds. The two PROset icons, Extreme graphics, Touch Pad and PowerPanel are just links to device driver properties dialogs, so virtually no resources used. Wireless, LAN, Power and Volume are the same, but to Windows services. I could probably get rid of the rest (except for Samurize, YZshadow and VirusScan) but they haven’t annoyed me sufficiently yet.
Truthseeker: You have some of the oddest avatars. Is the guy getting crushed by the giant Bible having a seisure?
I’ve got 44 background processes going. Nine in the tray: Antivirus, Battery Meter, Float’s Mobile Agent, LAN Connection, Power Panel, Proset Wireless, Volume, Windows Security, Wireless Switch. I turned off icon display for the XP Wireless LAN connection, Intel Graphics and Mousepad. I disabled all the auto-update utilites.
47 background processes, 11 in the tray(emule, hotsync, wireless lan, power panel, intel graphics, magic tune, avast pro, wireless switcher, volume, and power meter)..

Did you not read the spine? or see the part in the middle of the pages. Clearly he isnt being crushed or having a seizure… as he is simply tapping his toes in the air. Weird how you never skew the obvious for anything except somebody you don’t like.

Clearly. I keep forgetting that toe tapping is the internationally-recognized sign for “Help, I’m about the be eaten by a giant book!” My mistake. I’ve never been in the armed forces or worked in a bookstore, so my experience in such emergencies is limited. Excuse me then.
