I hate you all - especially you Drachen for encouraging me - notable exceptions to Chris and Gr00vy for trying to talk sense into me.

I bought the Uk S1XP -1.7ghz, Radeon 9700 64mb etc

First impressions: build quality not as good as the TR, fan on pretty much constantly (and its quite whiny at that - has an annoying buzz), screen as expected- excellent, keyboard - no more flimsy than the TR, horrible speaker grills (look really cheap) but the rest of the machine is quite stylish, loads of really annoying pre-installed software (Google toolbar? First thing I did was try to remove it and it crashed the machine..)

Going to load a few music apps and give it a run for its money, hope the above doesnt appear too negative, guess I’m used to (near) perfection with my TR..

The time has come for me to join the darkside :twisted: .  Im selling my 2 month old TR5MP for the S1XP.  Sorry if I caused any offence by ditching the TR but my love affair is now over and I need to look towards the future, the bright S1XP future :D

I was surprised by your comment about the build quality as for me it seemed leaps and bunds above my tr.. But then i not been happy with mine since i dropped it and had it repaired by Sony..

I wouldn’t say so. After all, Apple stuff is quite stylish and elegant, just like our Sony products. The same goes for the build quality.

No, in my opinion, the dark side would be a switch to another notebook manufacturer, like JVC, ASUS, Dell or whatever else.

I only had the TR for 4 months, and after reading all the posts about the S series, well it took me less than a week of convincing myself before I got one. What a great machine…. little bit louder, but far more powerful…. Far cry here I come!....
