This is a bit off-topic, but I’m hoping you don’t mind. I’d like to take advantage of the experience of you TR road warriors out there who have tried the Sony CLIE PEG-UX50. I’m looking to upgrade my wife’s Sharp Wizard OZ-770. There’s no hope of getting her into a “real” computer like the TR, so it needs to be something along the lines of a PDA. She’s insistent on having a keyboard, so the stylus/touchscreen-only devices won’t do. I’m not at all wedded to the UX50, but in the research I’ve done to date, it seems like a good choice, and they’re available factory refurbished on ebay for a reasonable price. So any feedback on this machine would be much appreciated. Also, any other suggestions on PDA type devices with a keyboard and a similar form factor to the Sharp Wizard (3"x6"x1”) would be welcome. i had the ux50 since mar04.. i must say it was the best pda i have ever had.. wifi,bt,qwerty,camera,mp3,hi-res…it had everything i needed..except phone capability.. and that’s why moved on to the palmone treo600. the resolution is no where close to the ux but i can live it until the t610/ace(bt & hi-res) becomes available. i would recommend the ux50 if she doesn’t mind carrying a phone(to access gprs) and if you can get a good deal on a pcga-eb40(the battery life on ux50 is horrible..extended battery makes a world of difference when you are using wifi and bt). i just sold my USED eb40 for about 265 shipped..which was around 80 dollars purchased NEW!! crazy but that’s how it is when it comes to discontinued products. without the eb40..don’t expect too much wif/bt use..    btw..there’s an off-topics section..i don’t mind but some may not feel the same..

I love my Treo 600!! It has everything i need…well almost.(bt & hi-res) it works great in the states. my current carrier is at&t..i’ve been getting great receptions/signals everywhere(los angeles) ever since they have merged with cingular..haven’t tried it overseas but i’m pretty sure it’ll work. the only complaint about that i have about the treo 600 is the fixed battery that aren’t user replaceable…well i supose you can do it but its not as easy as sliding the cover off the typical phone. my dad and my roommate are on tmobile…all i know is they have great unlimited data plans available as to at&t’s per kb.
