Ok, weird. I tested my TR1 again with this software because I’m setting up a friend’s new Toshiba laptop and I got a score of 1705 while their score was 2413.
Both laptops are similarly equipped in terms of specs. Their Toshiba laptop has the same background chipset 855GM, Intel Graphics, and sound chipset. Anyways, the Toshiba was a 2.4Ghz Celeron with 512MB of DDR and an IBM hard disk.
So, the scores sort of intrigued me. I’m sure it’s random coincidence but the 2.4Ghz Celeron scores a 2413 while my 900Mhz Pentium M scores 1705. Well, we all know that the 900Mhz (or 1Ghz) Pentium M does not perform like a “900Mhz” CPU. In fact, it’s known that a Pentium M typically performs equivalent to a Pentium 4 that is 700-800Mhz faster. So, 900 + 800 = 1700. Hmmm…2400+ points equals 2.4Ghz. 1700+ equals around 1.7Ghz of performance.
