Hey guys,
I was wondering if there is any way to bypass Sony’s system check when updating certain software. For ex. I have VAIO Media 3.0 and I found on Sony’s Support an update to it that fixes a few bugs, but when I run it on my VAIO, it goes OK through EULA agreement, and then a message appears like “Checking your System Information…Please wait” and then I get a message “This update is not intended for use with your computer model” and of course after clicking OK, the update exits. I hate that Sony restricts the updates. I used to pick up the update install files from Windows Temp folder, but now Sony came up with a different packaging installer.  :evil:  Sony Europe and Sony Japan do not have such restrictions… I actually check Sony Japan support site from time to time and certain updates apply to me and work great when written in English. They are always ahead and on top of software and BIOS updates for their VAIOs.
So if there are any hacker-techies out there who would know how to bypass that system check, I would appreciate your input!
