I am seeking your adivce for a Bluetooth mouse to my TR5. I have the LogiTech Cordless Presenter (BT-Mouse, Presentation controller and a Laser-pointing device) which I think is lagre.
Do you know of any thing small, smaller, the smallest?
It’s not small by any stretch of the imagination, but I would recommend the Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth.
I didn’t purchase it for use with my TR, but it was surplus to requirements from a colleague who thought the Microsoft bt keyboard/mouse would be good for him. But he didn’t get on with it, so I’ve appropriated the mouse (the keyboard is a horrible thing…it’s still in its box under my desk!)
I don’t usually carry the mouse around with me, but it sits happily waiting for me at the desk where I make most use of the TR. Out-and-about I’ve trained myself to use the TR’s pointy-pad, to avoid having to carry more hardware around.
Despite other reviews and comments, I seem to get pretty good battery life, typically 3-4 weeks on a pair of Duracells or rechargable NiMHs.
I really like the Bluetake BT500. It is tiny and perfect for packing around with the laptop. It has an on/off switch and uses AAA batteries, no charger required. When I turn it on I get an immediate connection, good response and have never had a disconnect.
Were I setting up camp somewhere and going to be doing a lot of “mousing” I might pick up a bigger USB mouse and just throw it in the suitcase, but for total portability the BT500 is awesome.
Most places carry the, IMHO, ugly blue one, but white is available and I found both it and the best price here:
I am also a fan of the BT500. It is small and that is perfect for anyone who needs to save space in their bags. It works great. I only wish someone would come up with a small Bluetooth trackball ... any Bluetooth trackball.

I’m pretty sure they also require a usb RF receiver.. as far as i’m aware the only bluetooth mouse logitech do is the MX900, which although very nice (i have the di novo set for my desktop) is a bit large for my liking on a notebook, especially one as small as the TR.
[quote author=“linc”]what i like about the mx900 compared to other bt mouses that are available is the mouse charging station/dongle..
For me a nice hefty BT desktop mouse with charging stand would be a good second mouse. I’d have to disable the BT hub, though, as I have internal BT. <thinking> Actually be cool if the mouse wakes up when removed from the charger and automatically pairs with the TR… Set down the notebook, pick up the mouse and go.
I still really like my little Bluetake, it stays parked in my gearpouch ready to go when the TR does. If it dies, batteries are common and cheap.
