We value things differently. Some value how to protect their motion eye, some value how fast their DVD rom perform ... and I am sure some of us (like me :D ) value how to prolong the life of my precious, and that includes the battery.
Now is the time to be truthful ... how often do you check your battery indicator (with Power panel or Windows Battery Indicator or Samurize, etc)?
Never check, don’t want to know. When the battery fails to hold a charge, I know i’m stuck…until then, if I know, I’ll watch until it dies and be upset. I’m better off not knowing.
[quote author=“Drachen”]Which sounds like the precise opposite of tifosiv122…
The similarity is in the fact that I don’t care about how many cells I killed in a day like some others here do. When the battery dies, I’ll buy another one. Instead of it being a concern, it is just a passing curiosity.
I hear about that keyboard marks problem from older iBook and PowerBook owners. Grease, oils and finger… er detritus… builds up on the keys and gets on the screen, eating away at the protective LCD coating. Clean the screen often. I’ve had my TR almost a year now, and I don’t see any evidence of keyboard marks, and I’m not the biggest clean-freak in the world.

Speaking of which…one key, the K, is loose on my TR…its almost like a sea-saw (is that how to spell it)? Its hanging on, but it feels like it will fall off at any time…although as much as I try, it won’t come off. Oh well, I don’t use K that often. OK
WOW, that was the firt day I joined this forum. And, as usual, here was my stand on the issue:

Rahul, don’t read into it too much. Keep in mind that a couple of years down the road you will want the next latest notebook. Then you can sell your TR on EBay for just under $1,000. Put that towards the next laptop. It is just like buying a new car. Only notebooks will not last as long as cars, mainly due to technology advances instead of hardware failure. The next owner of the TR will not expect blinding brightness from the LCD in as much as you would expect a used Lexus to have that “new car smell”.
