Has anyone been able to find any newer models of at least 5400 RPM 1.8” HD’s? I LOVE my TR but I am nearly ready to throw it against the wall when it takes me (from the second I enter my password til there is no more constant HD access) 4min 23secs to log on!!!
And I really don’t wanna start with a fresh install of XP (since I know i have installed lots of unneccessary things that have slowed it down).
Returning to the point…any faster models? even if they are 30gb cause i plan on getting an external HD at around 200gb either way  .
there aren’t very many 1.8” drives out in the market right now
however, you can always work around the problem by tinkering with what you have.
my load up time is about 20 seconds because i never completely shut off my computer. I use the hibernation feature because it’s quicker and a lot more stable now than when it was first introduced in windows 95. There isn’t as much memory loss.
Sorry, again, they don’t exist. 60GB is the current max on 1.8” hard disks and it’s 4200RPM. The 60GB may be slightly faster than the original 30GB if that 60GB is achieved using higher density disks as opposed to simply doubling the platter.
Someone is a little upgrade crazy…
I think you basically need a brand new notebook or a new computer. You want to change the CPU, video card and hard disk of your TR…
LOL…yea and that would be just great to carry in my backpack with 3 other books and at least 4 notebooks… PLUS…i Love my TR….best style ever….the Scion xB best car EVER….has awesome looks but has a piece of c**p engine….so….im gonna put a turbo, larger exhaust, and cold air intake after I install a new ECC.
Overall…yea, im VERY update crazy…
O and about the hibernation thing…believe me i’ve tried that but my system is already so crazy after one hibernation my system stops responding for around 5 minutes once it has been brought out of hibernation (as well as standby when I think about it). But whatever. Im probably just gona have to transfer my 2gb Music folder and 7gb backup of Kill Bill  back to my recovery partition and make a clean install of XP . How fun that will be. Luckily my 4 gb collection of Linux iso’s is already on there.
How slow is it for u guys to transfer files among partitions? Last time I moved a 1gb collection of MP3’s…I decided to let it go over night and sleep in. Does everyone have this problem with their TR’s HD?
Gr00vy0ne, right now the main thing I want upgraded however is the hard drive… :D

Doesn’t Scion use Toyota engines? If it does, TRD stuff should be fairly easy to adopt. BTW, did you mean ECU or is ECC something on the Scion?
you gotta be kidding me: Scion? Wait a minute i think i’ve got a cardboard box out the back….maybe i can cut out some wheels and stick em on and have my own scion
But seriously, never had a single drama with hibernate, sounds like you might have some troubles with your XP setup. Best bet is a re-install. Why don’t you get yourself an external hard disk? Get’s me out of trouble lots of times, and with firewire or USB 2 the speed is awesome. I dumped a 50 meg file to test it when i first got mine and even over USB2.0 it only took about 4 secs.
..u sound like my mom ...
Yea….I didn’t wanna reinstall but I must face the inevitable…
I am getting an external but that doesn’t help me with the stuff I need
to keep with me all the time you know :( . I MUST, after all,
have my copy of Kill Bill with me at all times…
I love the Scion Xb and the Xc…if I was 17 again, one of those would be mine. The Xc is very similar to my Mercedes Coupe which cost 2 times the price.
Jiggy, either transfer some files to your recovery drive (assuming u have a 40gb drive) or if not… get an external, there prices have been coming down constantly… (once again assuming that the files that you have files that you can transfer to it. And another correction…we need BIGGER AND FASTER HD’s.
