Ok, time for another one of my random polls.

So which is it? Left-handed or Right-handed? Speak on it foo! 

I’m a southpaw but oddly enough, I’m much better with a mouse with my right hand. Of course, I generally use my left hand when I use my tablet where I’m much more accurate.

I used to hate it in college (and high school for that matter) when non-lefties would hog the lefty desks or the special full sized desks. Also, those darned lefty desks were always on the one side of the room. I didn’t mind all the time but it sucked badly on exam days when you’re trying to write an essay with no arm support.  :evil:

Other than that, I don’t mind the scissors thing but it still hurts after prolong usage.  :(

I also always have to bring my own glove when I play softball with friends…otherwise I have to use a righty glove which isn’t a problem in terms of catching but then I have yank it off my hand so I can throw the ball back. And no, you don’t want to see me throw with my right hand. Not pretty.

One nice thing about being lefty is it typically pisses off people when I’m playing tennis. I’ve got nasty slice and top-spin serves and get tons of cheap points of serves.  :wink:

I’m of the non-sinster orientation. Oddly, it seems that everyone else I know is NOT. When we go out to eat and sit at a circular table, I always leave lots of my right, because invariably we’ll hit elbows sometime during the evening. Damn southpaws.  :?

Leftie here. It used to be a big issue when I was a kid (baseball gloves, scissors, etc…) so I tried and tried to start using my right hand. Now I even play guitar right-handed, along with scissors and computer mice. However, I still write and eat with my left hand.

I’ve heard that it’s actually better for lefties to pick up right-handed guitars. Not only are you doing fingerings with your dominant hand, but right-handed guitars are much more plentiful.

That’s one thing for which I am thankful, that I started playing guitar (now my profession) as a righty! I didn’t think about it, at 5 years old I just picked up my older brother’s guitar and learned it the way it was, not thinking about directions. I see the crap selection for lefties and that is due to the minuscule demand of a minority…

i use my right hand for drawing/mouse-ing but my left foot for speech control. so what does that make me?

Odd. 

I would be classed as Equally Ambidexterous. I can do my digital artwork both left and right handed, I like to show off! I write left but play most sports right (cricket, baseball and the like) I have always used scissors right handed. I am not sure why, maybe it has something to do with the fact that when I was at school there were no left handed products so you just made do. What do you true lefties do when you use SLR cameras? it has occured to me as I use one all the time that as they are made for right handers it could be quite difficult to use the controls left.

for all one handed activities I use my right hand, while something that requires two hands (like batting in cricket) I’m a leftie.

We’re supposed to be artistic as well. Most left-handed people I know are actually pretty artistic in one way or another so I might believe that. I’m mostly a self-taught artist so I guess there may or may not be any truth to that.  :wink:

Right-Handed…I can’t do anything with my left hand, lol.

I write and use the mouse right handed, but throw/kick with my left hand/foot and play most sports left handed.. except shooting, pool and archery.
Golf i can’t seem to make my mind up about though.

i’m a natural lefty, but my parents made me do things with my right hand.

i still do most things with my right, but do a few things with my left. for example, i golf on my left side (but oddly enough, i putt on my right side). this causes for lots of confusion on the golf course.

Righty…....

I think the only thing my left hand can do is hang out the window. :wink:
