Ok , i got this major deal on Ebay for a NEW TR Battery, its the standard battery, but i won it for $154, on sonys site its still $299, anyhow well i was looking at the power panel properties and seen the line charge cycles and noticed my old batt which came with my TR1 says 37, so i guess that mean i charged it 37 times.. anyhow… i had my TR1 sence September, what are you guys at for charge cycles? also if anyone knows how many charge cycles can one battery do before it takes a crap on you…

Mine’s at 19. It’s a BP3T though I don’t need to charge it as often since it lasts pretty long in between charges.

I’m not sure how long the batteries can go…on my past three notebooks, the batteries have lasted pretty well. For some of them at the 1.5 to 2 year mark, the batteries were still good.

19 charge cycles on my TR2, which will be one month old on Saturday. I think I’ll pick up an extra battery before the 20% off accessories coupon expires.

On a related note, what is everyone’s full charge capacity? The design capacity on my standard battery says 47.73 wh, and the full charge capacity says 47.59 wh. My SR’s battery full charge capacity dropped like crazy after one year, and it only holds about 8 wh now. Hopefully this battery has a long life ahead of it.

I’ve been reading a bit on LI-ion batteries and it’s taught me alot that I didn’t know.. I’m not absolutely cetain, but this information is just what I ahve read from some seemingly reputable sources.

Apparently it’s very bad to buy spares to keep around because as soon as LI-ions leave the factory they start oxidizing internally, which builds up internal resistance as the battery ages so that in about 2-3years time the batteries will be basically useless for a laptop.

Also Li-ions like to not be fully charged all the time, so that if you are using you latptop alot, it’s better to run off of battery and let it drain some and then charge it instead of leaving it plugged in all the time.

I only have 9 charge cycles on mine. Design capacity and full charge capacity are the same at 47.73 wh.
