Has anyone had any experience running this game on a TR2? I do not have many games- I hate to buy a game to find that it won’t run on my computer. When I installed Rise of Nations, it would not load. But a call to Microsoft resulted in downloading some new drivers and it runs great.

I’m almost 100% positive that Far Cry will not run on the TR. And by this I mean that it will either not run at all since it probably requires a DirectX 9 capable video adapter (which the TR does not have) or it won’t run well enough (assuming you got it to run) to be playable.

Far Cry is considered one of the most graphically demanding game on the market right now so it’s probably not going to work.

You may want to check this in the future.

I’ve run the demo on the TR. It will run, but as expected, the performance is so sad, it’s probably not even worth playing on your TR. The bad guys look like silhouettes, the water looks like a flat water-color until you jump in ( then it all looks white ), and anything that’s not supposedly colored green in the game is either replaced with white ( imagine seeing white trees around you ), black ( some shadows, even stuff that aren’t supposed to be shadows ), and I think I saw a hint of brown somewhere. And blue. lol

But if you want to check it out for yourself, go ahead. It can play on the lowest setting and second to lowest setting. Just don’t set your settings any higher, or else you’ll more than likely get a “Error: This system has just recovered from a fatal error” message, like I’ve gotten many times before running complex games ( my brother dared me to set it to the max settings ..... much to say, it took some time to load AND did that error thing! )
