I cobbled it together. The woman and background are from different sources (neither of which I can remember offhand but there’s a version of this desktop image in my desktop collection in this thread) but I recolored/corrected them to match my current VS and did the text. Photoshop can make anybody look good.  8)

For those of you who want an easy-to-use Vaio logo for any artwork, I found a TrueType font with both the Sony Style and Vaio logos. :ph34r:

Well I’ve been playing with samurize instead of doing revision for my exams so I might as well show you the fruits of my labours.  Still got to get sort out the normal icons on the left, but you get the general idea!!

If you enable drop shadows for the desktop icons, you can get rid of the gray background behind the icon names.

Yeah I’d noticed that they’d appeared the other day, but hadn’t got around to removing them.  You can sleep safe in the knowledge that they have been banished!!  8)

Hey Miss Tiffany!

I’m using StarDock’s Desktop X application and using one of the various free Weather Objects available over at Wincustomize.com. It’s powerful stuff and very easy to configure and adds a lot of other abilities to your desktop. There is a free version that should run the weather objects without problems. Otherwise, there’s a $19.95 version that adds extra features.

Alternatively, you could you Samurize along with one of these scripts . I suggest DesktopWeatherXML 1.4 which is pretty good. You do have to do more manual stuff (like tweaking config files) with Samurize but it’s free.
