Hello everyone,
Its been sometime since I owned a VAIO - my last machine was a VAIO N505X which I was fairly disappointed with, with regards to speed and heat and the extremely expensive micro-RAM upgrades.
However, I am tempted to get a TR1MP new at a very good price, and I was wondering whether there is a huge difference between that model and its newer revisions? I have read some rough specs, are they very different, apart from HDD size, slightly faster CPU, dvd-rw drive for the TR3, and more RAM?
I remember when I used to have the N505X that it would heat up rapidly, and within 2 hrs, the bottom of the case would be comfortable if used on my lap - do TR1MPs run as hot as those machines? In the past, esp. in summer, I would shut it down after 1.5-2hrs of the heat and in fear of damaging the internals.
Have RAM upgrades for the TR1MP cheaper than the N505 prices? Would you guys think its reasonable for running mozilla, photoshop CS (30-50meg files) and light dreamweaver work? Would it be able to handle light Premiere work? I found in the past with the N505X that the HDD was terribly noisy and rather slow!
thanks for any info!
