First off, thanks to LiteYear for sending me a recovery DVD. Both of us have a European TR1MP. Mine was bought in Germany and his in the UK. Since I want the recovery DVD in English, I tried installing it today—and got the message that it cannot be carried out due to my computer being the wrong model number. I knew this would be an issue with the DVD on eMule, since it’s for the American version with a different model number. But now I’m stumped.

How can it tell? Does the language make a difference? Is there a way to get around this?

I read something just now about it perhaps having to do with the BIOS, that the recovery DVD software checks to see if it’s the same version. Is that why the European DVD for the UK TR1MP won’t work on my German TR1MP, because my BIOS is in German?

If so, how do I change my BIOS to that of a UK TR1MP BIOS. I guess it can’t hurt to do so, since it really is the same model anyhow. Besides, I would be happy to then have both BIOS and OS in English…
