i’ve been trying to install ASPI drivers to my new TR3AP2 laptop for over two days now with no luck. I tryed all versions i could find from my archive and the latest version from the adaptec website with no luck :/

Has anyone managed to installed ASPI drivers?

I use Windows XP Pro, and AudioCatalyst for ripping. AudioCatalyst does not recognise i have an ASPI enabled device and Nero tool reports that system ASPI drivers are broken…

Nobody has managed to install the ASPI drivers?

this is quite a serious flaw(?) since i have no ability to rip my favorite CDs from my TR3AP2 laptop which sucks to say the least.

Please provide some feedback, i can’t believe noone from you has ever tryed to rip a CD with his/her laptop ... what/how do you do it if not with ASPI drivers? So far i’ve only managed to rip a CD at 1X speed :/

I have been able to rip CDs on my TR2 quite happily using CDex ... I don’t know anything about ASPI so can’t suggest anything I’m afraid.

XP doesn’t need ASPI drivers. I think there might be a way to make it LOOK like you have them for older programs.

Yes, you will need aspi32 for XP available from Adaptec.  They work fine on my system TR3A, XP Pro SP2; tested with Audiocatalyst 2.1

Get the files here:
ftp://ftp.adaptec.com/software_pc/aspi/aspi_471a2.exe

You’ll need to install it from the command prompt / cmd.exe.  Just double clicking on the install.bat file won’t work, as it requires a parameter to specify which layer to install; 32bit or 64bit XP drivers.

* cd\adaptec\aspi
* install.bat XP32

It will add the registry entries and copy the driver. Reboot and the aspi layer will be available to any apps that require it.
