hmm.. when i set the videomode in grub/lilo to 791, i get a 1024x768 console view… does anybody know, which mode describes 1280x768?
such a huge console would rock…  8)

So I think the answer for your Question would be: 795

I wouldn’t… The TR doesn’t support 1280x1024. The screen is only 1280x768.

the problem: no vesa-mode describes 1280x768… i searched the hole kernel-source which handles console-mode - without luck. the kernel directly calls a bios-function… i think the only way would be to integrate the vbios patch by Andrew Tipton into the kernel or kernelloader, so the vbios becomes patched before the resolution is changed… hm, this could work..
