Yeah, I would work for a company too if it was the right fit. I worked for one of those new e-biz companies back in the day and it was so casual. Of course, we dressed up when we went to meet the clients but when we were at the office we wore whatever.

Actually, one time when I was working on Lexus.com and Toyota.com, we suggested the client come to our office for a workout session. We told them to not wear their suits to our office and they all actually showed up in shorts and t-shirts…we’re talking VPs, directors and even the CIO. It was awesome and they enjoyed it a lot especially since we were stuck in a room for 8 hours going over business requirements. We even provide jars for of candy for those who had trouble staying awake and jars of playdough so OCD types would be able to fidget but still pay attention. Ah…the good old days… :wink:

A reporter from High Times came in to do an interview and after a while, the entire office could smell how the interview was going. 8)

Good points, guys.  I guess I was talking about the more rigid sectors of the corporate world.  My basic philosophy is, “if you have to punch a clock, its time to punch out…for good.”

There are weeks where I will work 35-45 hrs.  Then there are weeks where I will work 5-10 hrs.  Very few companies will let you have this kind of freedom unless you have a truely outside position.  Then they never know. :wink:

Yeah I was in that position. Some days I would work 8am-8pm, no breaks, other times I would come in at 9, take a 1 hour lunch, and leave at 4…it all depended on what I had to do that day. Either way, I got paid on a 40 hour week, no overtime.
