I am not sure if this is possible, but if I was to make an ISO out of that partition and create a bootable DVD from that ISO - would boot and run like a recovery DVD?  Or does it not work that way?

Anyone try this on an X505?  I did not purchase the external optical drive and would like to get this data off of the HD in an alternate manner.  If this doesn’t work for an X then I’ll probably image the entire drive on an external and blow away the recovery partition.  What have you guys done with configuring your partitions?

I have model VGN-T72BT that I recently purchased in Osaka, Japan. I follwed the steps in this procedure to the letter and it worked for me. I now have access to the recovery partition. However, looking at your screen shot of what the files and folders in the partition should lookl ike, it would seem that I am missing some files. This may not be the case, but my partition does not look entirely like yours.

Question: How would I make a recoery disk now that I have access to the partition?
