Well I appreciate the suggestions. Unfortunately I have left the computer on OVER NIGHT and all I had was just those lights and still no system boot. :-( Also in regards to backup, since I have no way of getting the internal 1.8” HD to connect to anything else I am not able to back anything up. :-( Especially with a computer that just does NOT want to boot anything!
So I have taken a different approach, I just purchased Sony’s ONSITE 3 year warranty. and I am going to wait a week and process a claim. And instead of having to send in my laptop to someone that will PROBABLY format my HD, I will have someone come to the office and try to replace the parts that are causing the problem. and hopefully I can convince that formatting the HD is NOT the solution. (I think it has something to do with the logic board)
Now the other BIG question. I have the FAMOUS internal BT module upgrade installed that worked like a charm until last week when the TR died. Should I remove it BEFORE the service guy comes over or leave it in and hope they don’t bitch…. I’m thinking f removing it to not create any possible issues.
[quote author=“porsche911turbo”][quote author=“macmaster”]I don’t know how heat could have done it since it was off and not in the car for the last week.
I am completly lost on why this could have happened. Well I guess I will have to send it back to Sony. I hope they don’t replace the HD, I had just put some info on the system that I didn’t have a chance to backup.
Sony will format your hard drive no matter what the problem is. I sent my laptop in for a problem with the part where the cord attaches to the laptop and they reformatted my hard drive.
Try leaving it on with just those lights, I sometimes leave my laptop on for 10 minutes with just those lights and then it finally comes on. Try to backup as much as possible too!!
