I tried over and over again to network my TR2A on my wireless network, I never got it to work, it always dropped the connection after about five seconds. I am pretty good at this so I grabbed my 80211.g Linksys card (pcmcia) out of my R505. I installed the card then the software rebooted and it has been fine!!! I removed the pcmcia card re enabled the lan-express 80211.g and it drops the connection. My determination is a hardware/driver compatability issue is the problem, whether sony is the problem or lan-express I don’t know but the built in wireless at 54 mbps is why I bought this thing, hope someone is working on a solution and fast!!!!

Recently I had the same problems with a dell inspiron.  Following the suggestion from their tech support, after exhausting all other possibilities, we had to reseat the actual mini pcmodem card (take it out and put it back in). 

In short this made it work longer than 5 seconds, even for a day or two at a time then eventually I had them send a replacement and it’s worked ever since.  Hope this helps.

My machine would drop the wireless connection until I set the power management options for the wireless card to Power mode setting 6, maximum power. You can find this under the Configure properties of the WLAN card under Network Connections. Good luck!
