I’d guess you’ve still got bluespace drivers and stack installed; or parts of it.

Control Panel, System, Device Manager:

Check the Universal Serial USB Bus Contollers, one of the four should contain “USB Bluetooth Device” under the Advanced Tab.

In Device Manager list, look for “Bluetooth Radios”. Under that I have:

Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator, Driver 5.1.2600.2180 details:

C:\Windows\system32\drivers\BTHENUM.SYS

USB Bluetooth Device, Driver 5.1.2600.2180, details:

C:\windows\system32\drivers\bthprops.cpl
C:\windows\system32\drivers\bthport.sys
C:\windows\system32\drivers\bthusb.sys
C:\windows\system32\fsquirt.exe

You can try rolling back, reinstalling, removing all drivers and letting XP “find new hardware”.

Be sure to Uninstall wireless switch and any bluespace in Add/remove programs. Once it’s working you can install wireless switch.

Hopefully you won’t have to manually find and delete the bluespace files to keep XP from finding them

you’re not going to believe this but those drivers check out… i have exactly the same drivers and the Bluetooth Device icon does NOT show up in my Control Panel…

just remember to create a restore point or image of your c:\ (system files) after you get everything up and running.  :wink:
