Our purchasing department will be ordering my PCGTR3AP2 on Monday, I’m so excited!
I’m a MAC user at home but finally got frustrated with integration of my MAC with our PC system at work. I’m going to get rid of my desktop at work since I’m out of my office 80% of the time in meetings (many in our building). Next step - wireless network in our building!
Thanks for all the advice and knowledge of everyone here, soon I’ll be one of you!!! (Unfortunately I am not planning on learning how to do backflips…)

Me too, I ordered my TR today, should arrive Tuesday. I like you am a mac guy, and I gues this machine is the most apple like pc we could go for. I have bought a copy of norton anti virus in advance. I am not used to having to think about things like viruses but do not want to be caught out.

More than viruses these days (IMO), spyware is a serious problem. Download and install AdAware , SpyBot S&D and SpywareBlaster . All three are freeware. Also you should visit Windows Update once a month. That and use a little common sense regarding opening unknown attachments.
If you miss the old look and feel of OSX, there are ways of bending Windows to your will . 8)

Congrats!
I am still a Mac guy (original Mac Classic, Cube, Powerbook 12” A) but with most of my work centering around Windows XP, I’ve had to “switch” back and needed a subnotebook with “everything”, the TR3 fit the bill perfectly.
All the best to you when your TR3 arrives!
Cheers,
James

Wow, lots of Mac users here. That makes me happy. I’m also a Mac user, but I’ll be purchasing a TR3 mid-summer for use at school. My college requires use of a PC with Windows XP Pro, so this machine will be strictly for school use. I don’t mean to start any flames flying around, but I honest don’t trust Windows with my personal information (photos, email, etc), so even though I really like this machine for its aesthetic value, I doubt I’ll get much fun out of using it…that’s sad. Hmm.

It is encouraging to see so many Mac users feeling drawn to the TR (even if only for aesthetics). You Mac people are so dedicated and loyal to your product. This just further reinforces my love for this series of subnotebooks that Sony has made.

I can really see how some people could develop the same affinity for Sony that we Mac users have for Apple. They show a fantastic attention to detail, and they make several products that are very appealing from both a design and technological standpoint. I would be a trademark Sony Whore if they only made a computer that ran OS X. :D Apple’s portables aren’t doing anything for me from a hardware standpoint at the moment (167 MHz bus!?), but OS X has got to be the best operating system I’ve ever used. It’s what keeps me from switching platforms again. I have to be honest, though, when I say that the discovery of Sony’s TR series has caused me to feel quite conflicted for the first time in several years of happy Mac ownership.

I have to agree that OS X is the most robust OS that I have used. The thing just never crashes.

The only time I restart my system is when I install a major software update. :D

I’m going crazy this week - purchased an iPOD - figured if I had a small computer I needed a small music player (plus I kind of felt I was cheating on Apple with my TR purchase). Which toy to play with???

TR’s definately had that effect on me. I’ve wanted a laptop ever since my brother brought home his lil apple power book a few years ago.
I wanted something similar but i’m a windows user, so when I saw the TR I fell in loooove. man I wish I could order mine now! I’m likely the only one here that does not have one in hand or on order… I just have to be patient :|
you guy’s are so lucky. I’m so jealous!
