Mine comes from an old motorola phone that always needed recharging. The display would read LOW BAT on a daily basis. I later used the nickname for my geocache logs as I regularly left my gps on when hiking and usually forget to turn the thing off.

As far as doing those crazy flips like groovyone does, no way! At 41 and 20lbs+ overweight.

Well my avatar is ‘the monkey’ of the weebl and bob site .  I also use it on messenger and as the background on my P900 8) just for consistency you understand, not because I’m lazy!!

mine as you can see is the old skool SGI logo ... I love SGI they build beautiful and powerful unix servers that produced the best CG effects back then .

and at one point I thought ( and still hope ) someday they will be the makers of the first true cyberdeck !

mine is a fly that i found somewhere in google.

Now that I *have* an avatar, it’s my turn to exposit.  It’s Marco from the Metal Slug game series on the (venerable) NeoGeo game system.  I had the idea after renting Fulltime Killer from Blockbuster.  If you haven’t seen the movie, there’s a scene towards the end—before the final duel—when the assassins talk about video games.  Metal Slug was the topic of choice.  :-D

I quite agree with Drachen about changing avatars from time to time. Because people DO have a locked in “image” of who you are after a while. I have similar experiences with that. Seems like a natural human thing to do. But it seems to have a “restrictive effect” both on the person with the locked image and the one who locked the image.  :idea:
